The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It was established to:

  • improve, preserve, and renovate the birthplace and childhood home of Edith Bolling Wilson (Mrs. Woodrow Wilson) for historic, literary, charitable, and educational purposes

  • increase awareness of contributions made by Edith Bolling Wilson to the institution of the Presidency and the country

  • and to examine, research, and promote the Bolling family heritage and its direct link to the ancestry of Pocahontas and other notable historical figures.

The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Foundation’s goal is to share how Edith Bolling’s humbled beginnings in Wytheville, Virginia served her well as First Lady and that her birthplace and childhood home will become the conduit by which public awareness will be built honoring the Bolling name, her contributions to this country, the institution of the presidency, and for the example she set for women then and now.

It is the Foundation’s vision to restore this national treasure into a period home, Interactive Museum/Library, Educational Center, and Genealogical Research Facility.
