…History, Heritage, and Romance

These three words describe the story inherent to the life of First Lady Edith Bolling Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson. Through our living history program, students and groups can schedule a visit from First Lady Edith Bolling Wilson, President Woodrow Wilson, and/or the younger Edith Bolling. The programs address:

History — how a woman with little education from a small town in Virginia became the 35th First Lady of the United States.

Heritage — the roots of this proud, prominent Virginia family, who were direct descendants of Pocahontas.

Romance — what transpired between a “lovesick” president and a forward-thinking widow.
Programs will be adapted to suit any audience. To book a living history program in your school or for your group, contact the museum at 276-223-3484 or email [email protected].
